My article is published...

Well it is the start of the new season and I have once again started to write stories for SpeedwayMedia.com. I like to give my own, personal views on Nascar and what is going on in the sport. I know I will probably hear good and bad comments but you can not please everyone in this world.

Here is the link for the story:

No Sell Out at Fontana

Well I just got done reading an interesting article on Nascar.com about this weeks upcoming race at Fontana and they are saying it will not be sold out due to Las Vegas is only a 4 hour drive and that fans would rather go to Las Vegas vice Fontana. Okay, lets see, why did Nascar give California a second race to begin with? It just doesn't make sense and remember how they got rid of Rockingham in order to give California its second race. I know that Rockingham didn't sell out in February but that track sure did bring to it some exciting racing. The "ROCK" is a one of a kind track and it was sad to see it go. I think Nascar should consider giving a track like Nashville or Kentucky a Cup race, now that would be some race but Nascar is all about the money when in turn it should be about the fans...who do they think supports Nascar? The sponsors? No way!!! I know the sponsors fork out some big time bucks but without the fans, there would be no sport.

Nascar really needs to take a look at this in the big scheme of things.

What is your opinion?

Have a great day,

Tom

Great Job for DJ at Daytona

Good morning everyone. For those of you that had off yesterday for President's Day, like myself, I hope you enjoyed it. It is back to work today...YUCK!!! LOL

Great job to DJ for getting a 10th place finish in a wild one at Daytona. I think Dale would have gotten a better finishing position if not for the caution because he was coming up through the field rather quickly. It reminded me of the Bud Shootout that he won where he came out of no where but that is DJ's style....stay in the back and out of trouble.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Loved the New UPS commericals...

Okay, if this is an indication of how they are going to be for the year, this will be their best year. I almost cried when I saw that one with the little boy going horizontal after the truck went by him. Great job to the UPS people for these commercials.

Speaking of commercials, I want to say that the ones ran during the Daytona 500 outdid the SuperBowl and probably didn't cost as much. I think people should start considering advertising during the Daytona 500.

Have a great day.

Well I just posted my first audio blog and it is a pretty cool service and best of all it is free, you can not beat that, it sure does cut down on the time of typing everything out but once in awhile I do like to type a message and share a picture or two with everyone.

If you have a blogger account and a blog, you have to try it out.

Have a Nascaristic Day!!!

A Special Group Shot Picture To Share

Hi everyone,

Well I have tried that mobile blogging thing and I don't see it working so I emailed the blogger team to see what is going on. I also updated my picture on my profile but it does not show up on the blog page but it is there on my profile page, who knows, maybe it is lost in the matrix.

Anyhow,

I wanted to share this special picture of my friends when we were down in Charlotte in May 2004 for the Coca-Cola 600. As you can tell from the picture, we had the honor to get our picture taken with DJ and Elliott. Robert Yates was also in the room but we forgot to ask him to get in the picture, oh well next time...LOL. As you can tell from the picture, I kind of snazzed it up a bit.

I will tell you this, Elliott is a card. He is hilarious and very personable as is DJ but Elliott, he sure does have that kid side in him. I mean, did you see him walk behind Jeff Gordon while he was being interviewed prior to the Bud Shootout and the gesture he made as he walked by? Enough said...LOL

Have a great day everyone!!!

FYI...The comments and views in this blog are soley my thoughts and expressions.

This was taken during our summer vacation at my Aunt and Uncle's house in Captiva, FL. That is the gulf of Mexico behind us

I won DJ in an auction!!!!

Good morning everyone.

I just wanted to let you all know that I won DJ in an auction. My friend, Dennis, over at
http://www.stockcarpitpass.com has an outstanding idea going on over there. Part of the money raised from the auction goes to the Victory Junction Gang camp. I couldn't think of a better way to support my driver along with the camp. Great idea Dennis and I salute you for your efforts. Please stop on over to his site, it is definitely worth seeing and bookmarking.

PS. I just had to post this cartoon from Lori over at http://www.war-wagon.com She is a wonderful friend and I appreciate everything she does for us and the sport of NASCAR.

Have a great day everyone!!!

My Daughter the singer

Well I am very proud of my 11 year old daughter Chelsey. She performed at a broadway musical at her school and she sang the song "Who will buy" from the musical Oliver, she was even dressed the part and you can see me, the proud dad with her.

Getting Set for the Daytona 500

What a change of events with the fines that Nascar just recently handed out to Chad Knaus of the #48 Team. He will be missing the rest of Speedweeks along with the Daytona 500. Do you think it was fair of Nascar to hit him so hard with these fines?
